A Bet for our Blogger Mentor.

I'd bet 5 scanes that Knitting B can't make a beautiful sweater with two silly girls spilling out of it! Are these two a riot? The State Department is a great place to slither around inside a sweater.

Birthday Breaking News!

Steve continues his struggle to achieve a good hair day. Thank goodness the holidays are just around the bend. Surely a loved one will slip a bottle of Fly-Away product in your stocking.
You are a beauty in our eyes. Happy Happy hairday... no birthday!

Washington Adventure.
Thought all you blogger fans may enjoy some

photos from the recent D.C. trip.

Everyone will remember Erin receiving
her award from Princess Jane of Oregonokov:

How about those two handsome fellas
Erin and I found?

And the three classy gals that
were just such peaches. Or is that four? I see
another sneaking in there.

And, oh yes, that amazing Bill being honored ...

fantastic!

What a memorable time!!

The folks in D.C. were swell
letting us all in. Let's do it again next year.

A minute for football chatter pls.
Congrats to the Colts. Nice win :(. I'd like to see the Pat's line give 'ole Tommy a bit more time to get his passes off. Gosh. Not shocked to see Mr. Owens go bye-bye. Now it might be fun to keep an eye on the Eagles to see how they pull together. Also in green, the Jets have another one to watch in the drivers seat. BB was just chopping at the bit to get his shot. What was Herm thinking grabbing VT from the pasture - you can't go from sittin' on your couch with a clicker to starring in the NFL. Not happenin'.

Up for a fun story??
A bit of background - Not even Wilma can Keep us from Florida:
Erin and I left for Boca Florida 10/27. Wilma had passed through Fla. just a few days before. NJ news didn't report all the damage. To our knowledge the impact was spotty. Resorts were closed including ours - the best resort of all time. We craved the sun and a swim in the ocean badly, and it was Erin's birthday weekend, so off we went to Florida anyway. Turns out, electrical lines were down everywhere! Businesses worked by either candlight or generator. From the Florida airport we called around quite a bit. Finally, Erin found a place at the Delray Marriott. They had massive generators kicking and they were happy to have us. They assumed we were from Florida looking for refuge. When they discovered we were there on a pleasure trip, they asked "you do know there was a hurricane that came through here, right?"

What time is it? A typical OnlyUs-ism:

The stay at the Marriott was just for a hold-me-over until the Boca opened up. We got lucky with a Sat-Sun stay at this glorious place. Sun the 30th was check-out - bummer. A glance at the watch, Wow, it is already 11:00. Naturally, we ask for a late check-out. Granted. At some point Erin notices her phone says 12:35 and we find it really weird 'cause my watch says 1:40. "Maybe the Fla towers controlling the cell are out too?" Later, off to airport for the late afternoon flight home. Planes on time. Wonderful. Comfy in the seat. Some guy claims I'm in his seat. Doubt it, but I still have to prove it with my ticket slip. Sure thing, we are assigned the same seat. Crazy. Before take-off the stewardess asks to speak to Withers/McCormick, "is Withers/McCormick party on board? You are scheduled for the next flight, but this plane goes to Newark too. Want to take this flight?" The guy assigned my seat adds, "I guess that explains how you're in MY seat". Smarty pants.

OK, so how the hey did we end up on the wrong flight?
And, why was Erin's phone reading differently than my watch?
I didn't even detail for you an additional indicator of our mishap. Earlier that same day, we were passing the tennis courts and noticed that the pro was arriving 45 minutes late to the 9:00 a.m. clinic. We were just happy we didn't set our alarm to get there.
If you know the answer to the questions - you'll know why the pro was 45 minutes late to clinic (or was he 15 minutes early??).

Keep blogging on Erin's Porch.

Steve and Sue's big effort to visit the blog continues. We belive in you. You can do it. It will be worth all the time and energy because here is a lovely picture of you rockstars.

Erin's birthday dinner with Maggie - No Suzanne tonight :(.
Erin's Italian dinner from the grill was a hit. I made it. That is how it works. Erin has a grand idea for company and the awesome spread she's putting on ... that I put on. No sweat. It is always a blast. The grilled cake concept just never quite occurred, but we did have a rather exciting Birthday surprise. A package came from a one special Rochette. Erin simply loves presents and we all love to see her enthusiasm, like she's still 10, precious. The box was filled with fantastic hair products for the boing boing curls. Here is a lovely photo of Maggie (also a curly top) and Erin loving the products up and putting the hair clips to immediate use. A big shout out thank you to Roche Raine for the nice present. We'll be bouncing and behaving without abandon. Maybe not behaving, but bouncing for certain. Smiles.

Thinking of Suzanne. The awesome foursome was not the same without you tonight.

WELCOME TO ERIN'S PORCH.

No cup of joe here, just fun photos and stories to share with family and friends. Why is it Erin's porch? Well, she is the colorful one - good enough. Here are some basics to know about us: Erin - from RI, big Irish family, laughs alot, makes others laugh alot, sportster,
likes water/sun and beach, 5'6" ish, fun curly
blonde hair, owns a bearded collie named

Jackie O and everyone knows it. I'm Marya - from upstate NY, big family, laughs at/with Erin alot, sportster, likes water and boats, 5'11" ish ... blah blah blah
- you'll get the scoop in time.

As Erin told Mariette Hartley - "We're fun. You'll want to have lunch with us!"

So for a visual, here we are. And no - that is not our limo. Pretty neat though. You'll also notice we don't really have a porch - that is not an important detail, so you should stop noticing crap like that.

Oh, and you'll need to know what the pup looks

like too right. Ok, here's the little devil - no, cutie.

The topic of interest today will have to be football. Bad first topic, I know, but New England plays the Colts tonight. We'll be welcoming two of our favorite Jersey Girls to watch the game with us - Maggie and Suzanne. Some silly story is sure to follow. We have no kitchen due to renovations in process. Erin, however, is not stumped. She plans to make a full Italian dinner on the grill. She is still trying to figure out how to regulate the temp while baking the cake. I will have the local delivery number on hand (just in case).
